RSA Interims holds its 9th Interims Networking Event at the RAC, Pall Mall

Perry Evans, Director of RSA Interims, opened RSA’s 9th Interims Networking Event in central London with a presentation on the current market for interims, providing an overview of the Interim Management Association’s Annual market Audit 2010 conducted by Ipsos Mori. PPerry went on to introduce the first speaker, Dr Kevin Cox who has been involved in the life sciences industry for over 18 years, primarily in leading high-growth, high-tech business operations.

Kevin was recently placed by RSA as interim COO of a joint venture between the MRC and three London Universities (UCL, ICL and KCL), set up to create a centre of excellence in medical imaging technology. Kevin, who described himself as an interim novice, spoke about an interim’s journey; from securing an assignment, through initiation, delivery and completion. The second presentation was given by inspirational speaker and communications expert Nancy Slessenger who, through delegate participation, discussed ways to tackle the commonly problematic issue of ‘challenging people’ in the workplace. Nancy provided delegates with tips on behaviour patterns to look out for (including bullying; nit-picking; negativity; insensitivity and indecision) and how to tackle the issue head on, along with the key warning signs to look out for.

Commenting on the event, Perry said; “We have come a long way at RSA, especially in this, our thirtieth year. And yet, despite our growth and expanding global reach, we remain a tight unit. With this in mind, holding events such as this remains an integral part of the service we provide.
