RSA expands into China

RSA is embarking on a joint venture to help global clients identify and retain the key executives necessary to drive their rapidly expanding interests in China. The initiative will be headed by Susan Macdonald, formerly RSA's sales and marketing practice leader. RSA will be teaming up with Foster Partners, an executive search firm with 15 years' experience and 11 offices in China.

Susan said of the new joint venture, RSA Foster: "This is a major challenge. It's estimated that in five years China will account for almost a quarter of all spending and investment in pharma and biotech. Our role will be to draw on our global reach to secure the executive talent the country needs to deliver its expansion plans."

Nick Stephens, RSA CEO, said: "Susan joined RSA in 2005 with considerable pharmaceutical industry experience and over the last three years she has made a major contribution to our sales and marketing practice. I'm delighted that she has accepted the challenge of establishing China's first executive search business exclusively for life sciences."

Replacing Susan at RSA headquarters will be Darren Spevick who takes up the post of sales and marketing practice leader designate in November. He joins from Adamson & Partners and has more than 10 years’ experience in executive search.
