Latest developments in the Interim Management Industry

Interim Managers had the opportunity to understand the latest developments in the market place at a recent networking event hosted by RSA Interims, the successful Interim Management Division of RSA.

A group of over 80 delegates covering the whole spectrum of Life Science disciplines, attended the event in April entitled "Latest developments in the Interim Management Industry".

Hosted at RSA's offices in the grounds of Hatfield House, the aim of the event was to help Interim Managers and Independent Consultants keep pace with the changes that are taking place in the market and the evolving legislation. To this end, delegates heard presentations from 2 keynote speakers - Ian Daniell, Industry Champion for the Interim Management Association and author of the book: "Interim Management - The new career choice for Senior Managers", and Joel Harding, Business Support Leader for Independent Consultants and Interim managers, Hillier Hopkins LLP. Following the presentations, delegates were able to discuss any issues with the speakers and meet with RSA's Consultants. Tom Dobinson, who has been an Interim Manager for over eleven years commented: 'It was a pleasure to hear Ian Daniell and Joel Harding talk about the interim market…much of what they said struck a few resonances however both also had something new to say. Meeting other people who either were Interims or were considering taking the plunge was also a pleasure. For those used to being full time employees it is a big step and I felt the evening was a very positive encouragement for them.'

The Interim Management Industry is evolving rapidly, especially in the Pharmaceutical and Biotechnology Industries. Keith Hobson, Chief Operating Officer, RSA said 'We were delighted at the interest and enthusiasm shown towards this networking event. The concept of 'flexible resourcing' is very much in demand and events such as these ensure that our Interim Managers remain up-to-date with the changing market environment. '
