Kay joined RSA in 1998 as a Consultant within the Pre-Clinical R&D practice. Over the past 11 years she has been promoted, first to Pre-Clinical R&D Practice Leader, before taking on additional responsibility as Managing Director of the Executive Search Division at the Hatfield Head Office.

Kay focuses on senior level searches within the pharmaceutical, biotechnology and healthcare sectors and is a member of the company's Management Team.

As a line manager, Kay gained experience in sourcing, selecting and placing scientific staff and in 1996 she transferred into SB's internal Recruitment group where she managed numerous recruitment campaigns across all pre-clinical R&D disciplines. At this time, Kay studied part-time for a Masters degree in Human Resource Management and Industrial Relations.

Kay gained a First Class Honours degree and a PhD in Pharmacology from Glasgow University before joining the drug discovery division of SmithKline Beecham. Over the next 9 years she worked across a number of therapeutic areas including GI and CNS, gaining both line and project management responsibilities.
