Dr Kevin Young, BSc (Hons), PhD

Kevin joined RSA in May 2004 to establish its Science & Medicine Division serving primarily clients in the Not-For-Profit Sector. He specialises in recruiting Board Level Professors, Directors, CSOs and CEOs of research organisations and institutions, identifying candidates from the public and private sectors worldwide. He has a track record in recruiting scientific specialists in the molecular, cellular and integrative sciences through to translational medicine. His search assignments are mostly international in scope.

In the UK, Kevin's clients have included universities and charities, government research departments and councils, multiple stakeholder collaborations such as the UK Centre for Medical Research & Innovation and the Stevenage Bioscience Catalyst. International clients have included public-private partnerships such as the Structural Genomics Consortium (Oxford-Toronto-Stockholm), the world-wide Cochrane Collaboration, the German Health Ministry, the European Molecular Biology Organisation and Laboratory, A*STAR in Singapore, and the George Institute for Health Research in Australia. He has recruited in the fields of AIDS, TB and Malaria Research for Institutions in the Gambia, Uganda and South Africa.

Kevin has a first class honours degree in pharmacology, and a PhD from the Department of Clinical Pharmacology, Southampton University Medical School. After his PhD, he spent 12 years in the pharmaceutical industry in clinical research and project management with Bayer and Eisai Europe Ltd, and one year with the ABPI in international affairs. He has been engaged in Executive Search since 1994, previously with Talentmark, Euromedica and Odgers Ray & Berndtson.
