Our client:

Mibe pharma Spain was founded in 2019 as the Spanish subsidiary of the Dermapharm Group, a leading manufacturer of patent-free branded pharmaceuticals originally for Germany. The company comprises in-house development and production and distribution of pharmaceuticals and other healthcare products.


The challenge:

The RSA Group was appointed to find a General Manager for Mibe pharma Spain. The Company was looking for an individual with good experience in the introduction and marketing of branded generics in Spain. The appointee would need to have a strong, hands-on approach and a good understanding of areas such as market access, development and production. Additionally, the candidate needed to be an excellent networker as Mibe pharma was not well known in Spain. Finding an individual with these high calibre traits posed a big challenge owing to the limited pool of candidates.


How our approach made a difference:

By understanding the needs of the Company and thoroughly assessing the pool of candidates, we were able to successfully place a suitable candidate. 67 candidates were initially identified with four subsequently shortlisted and interviewed. The selected candidate was able to successfully launch the business in Spain as well as implementing a merger with Allergopharma following its sale by Merck to Dermapharm within just a few weeks of starting.
